'What if' Situations

Spreadsheets can be useful for projecting what may happen in the future. They allow you to change one value in a spreadsheet and see the effect this would have on other parts of the spreadsheet, e.g. what effect would increasing the price of an item of stock have on a company's overall sales and profits?

9. Download the file pencils and fill the highlighted boxes with the required formulae. (To find the VAT - Value Added Tax, calculate 17.5% of the item sub-total.

b. Try putting different quantities of pencils in cell C3 to see the maximum amount that can be bought before the total goes over £20.
