Introducing Multimedia

A Multimedia file is one containing many (multi) types of objects blended together such as text, pictures, sounds, animations and movies.

You will create a simple presentation on the Animal Kingdom and then create a presentation of your own.

What you have to do!

1. Click on the button to download a "zipped" folder that contains all you need for all the exercises.
   • Make sure you've got "Save File to Disk" option selected.
   • If you are using FireFox, the folder will be saved to your desktop.
2. Move the "zipped" folder to your network folder.
   • On an Apple double click on the folder to "unzip" it.
   • On a PC:
     • Right click on the folder, choose Extract All.
     • In turn, click Next, Next and Finish.
3. After unzipping, you'll be left with two folders.
   1. The original zipped folder. This can now be deleted.
   2. A new unzipped folder. This is the folder you'll be using.

• Insert text from a separate file into a text box

• Insert a movie file

• Insert a sound file

• Create navigation buttons to move from slide to slide

• Creating a slide link using an existing picture

• Inserting word art

• Using a slide transition

• Download pictures, sound and movies
