1. Inserting Text into Presentations

Text is an important part of any presentation and should be added using a text box, allowing the usual changes of font, size, colour etc to be changed. Text boxes can also be moved around easily and have background colours changed as required.

WARNING WARNING

The movies have been made on an Apple Computer. There are some differences with the PC, but these can be solved by using the Menus along the Top of the program window.

 

 

To Insert TextBox on a PC

1. Click on the Insert Menu.
2. Choose Text Box
3. Draw out a box that is roughly the same width as you want. - don't worry you can change them later.
4. Still with your cursor inside the box, choose Paste from the Edit menu..

What you have to do!

1. Open your Animal Presentation. - double click on animal presentation.ppt file.
2. Open the Animal Facts.doc file inside your multimedia folder.
3. Copy the paragraph on the Lion.
4. Create a text box in your presentation. Paste the text inside and format the text.
5. Tick Off Exercise 1 in your Progress Grids.

 

 

What you can now do!

• Create a text box

• Change text box formats, i.e. font, size, colour, style (e.g. bold)

• Understand when a text box should be used
