Moving from page to page in a book is the same every time. You turn the page you get the next one.

In a multimedia presentation, slide transitions can make what happens as you move from slide to slide very dramatic and different from one slide to the next. Let's see how.

WARNING WARNING

The movies have been made on an Apple Computer. There are some differences with the PC, but these can be solved by using the Menus along the Top of the program window.

To Insert a Slide Transitions on a PC

1. Follow the Path shown in the screen shot - make sure you go to the right menu.
2. Clicking on Slide Transition will open on the right hand of your screen a list of Slide Transition effects. - this is similar to the Apple one shown in the video.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Experiment with some of the Options

1. Choose some different effects to see what they look like.
2. Change the Speed settings and see what happens.
3. You can even have a Sound effect as the slides change.
4. You can also control when the slides change.
   1. Either when someone clicks on the slide.
   2. Or after a set time.

What you have to do!

1. Open your Animal Presentation. - double click on animal presentation.ppt file
2. Add a Slide Transition to your presentation. - the cube effect shown in the movie is not available on the PC.
3. Create the text box labels shown in the second movie.
4. Tick Off Exercise 8 in your Progress Grids.

 

What you can now do!

• Add a slide transition

• Set a slide transition for one slide or a whole presentation as required

• Add Text box labels to make presentations more user friendly.
