Exercise 4: COMPLEX SEARCHING
 
Complex Search Computerised databases can also be searched by using more than one field to find information.
  A COMPLEX SEARCH is where MORE than one field is used to search for information.
 
Tip Searching can also be combined with sorting.
 
 
TO DO - In the Flights database
Watch the Complex Search Movie 4 and practice complex searching by answering the following questions in your Progress Grids. For each question, think carefully about which fields to use in your search.
 
1. a. Search for the flights to Spain costing less than £95.
  b. How many flights are there?
  c. Sort the prices into order with the cheapest first.
  d. Write down the flight number of the cheapest flight on the list.
2. How many flights having less than 5 available seats and a ticket price less than £200?
3. How many flights with numbers begriming with GD cost less than £150?
4. How many French flights fly before midday?
5. How many flights to the USA have more than 20 available seats?
6. How many BA flights go to America where the cost is less than £400 (think carefully)?
