5. Sending Attachments

With EMail you can do much more than send messages.

You can use Email to send files to others. These files can include music, pictures, word documents, presentations and so on. These files are called attachments.

The movie show you how to send or attach a Word document you made earlier in first year to someone in your contact list.

 

You can use your Glow Email to easily transfer files from a computer you may have at home to one in school. All you have to do is:

1. Create an Email message, but address it to yourself. Attach the files you want to move to your home computer.
2. At Home Log into your Glow Email account and open the Email you sent to yourself.
3. Open the attachment - see next exercise. - do any work on it. Save it and send it back your yourself.
4. In School, Log in to your Glow Account and open your file. Hey Presto! You have successfully moved a file from school to home and back again!

 

What you have to do!

1. Watch the movie above to find how to send files as attachments.
2. Send a copy of your Animal Facts document to a friend as an attachment wit6h the message that you have completed Exercise 5
3. Send another message to yourself with a word processing file of your choice as an attachment.
4. For Homework, open the file at home and show your parents what you can do. Send it back to your teacher with the message that you have completed your homework.

 

When you complete an exercise make sure you mark it off in your progress grids.
