Method, method, method

With a method, life as a programmer becomes much easier.

For every program you attempt, ask yourself these same 4 questions before you think about writing any lines of code.

  1. What are the variables (and what type are they)?
  2. What are the input variables (and how are they collected)?
  3. What are the processes (calculations)?
  4. What is the output (and how is it displayed)

Applying the Four Questions & About Variables

Variables are names given to bits of memory.

These variables do exactly what they say on the tin. They hold stuff that 'varies' or changes as we run the program.

Ofcourse when we create variables we must use names that reflect or describe their contents.

Watch the movie to find out how to apply the Four Questions and introduces variables.

What you have to do!

  1. Watch Movie 2 which introduces the Four Questions.
  2. Watch Movie 3 which applies the Four Questions to a simple program and explains more about Variables.
  3. Tick Off Exercise 2 in your Progress Grids.

Mark off Exercise 2 in your progress grids.

What you should now be able to do!
