Standard paragraphs are useful for saving time when the same text is used in many different documents.
The process involves creating a file containing a series of paragraphs and saving this file. Individual letters or other pieces of text can then be created by opening this file and simply copying the required paragraphs and pasting them in the correct place in the new letter, say. Other content can obviously be added to the letter, but a great deal of typing time can be saved by using the standard paragraphs.
Solicitors, Banks and Schools are good examples of organisations that make frequent use of standard paragraphs.
