PEOPLE CENTRE: PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

Name   ________________________________________  Class   _______________

Centre   ________________________________________  Date   _______________

Your teacher will outline how you should do this task and give you opportunities for discussion. Read and follow all instructions carefully, use hardware and software properly and write your report neatly.

The People Centre is a recently-opened community building in the town of Canlake. Its management requires a website giving details of the Centre. The home page should look similar to the diagram below. It has hyperlinks to seven other web pages. The links to the Restaurant, Concert Hall, Museum, Library, Exhibition Hall and Meeting Rooms are made either by clicking on their names or rectangle hotspots. The link from ‘meeting room charges’ is to a page showing a table of costs for hiring the meeting rooms. All pages have a link to the home page apart from the home page itself.

The diagrams below show the web pages for the Restaurant and Meeting Room Charges.

VIDEO
A reminder of how to set up a website. You, of course, will use your own web site name and link to the folder you are using to hold your website in your own network folder.

TIP 1
Think back to the practical exercise you completed at the begining of this unit. It was very similar to this exercise, with a HOME page linked to others by 'Hotspots'.

TIP 2
Keep it simple. Don't worry about graphics, fancy buttons and the like. This might be something you can discuss in your report.
