5. Sorting in Spreadsheets

Sort

A spreadsheet can be sorted into a particular order such as showing all surnames alphabetically or listing exam marks from the highest to the lowest.

 

Note
Care should be taken when sorting to make sure that all related information remains together after the sort.

  1. Download the file Gradings.xls.



  2. Watch Movie 5 and using the methods shown:
    1. Sort the rows in order of surname.
    2. Now sort the average scores so that the largest average appears at the top of the list.
  3. Save your file.
