Integrated Packages in Action

Combining data from different parts of the integrated package is one of their advantages.

Suppose for example your teacher wanted to produce a report on the progress of your class, they would :

  1. Enter the text for the report using a word processing application
  2. Copy and paste the data on your test results from the database into the
    word processing report document
  3. Use the spreadsheet to produce charts of the results and then copy and
    paste them into the report document.
  4. Use the graphics package to produce a logo then copy and paste it into
    the report.

 

Examples of these different types of data are shown below.

1. A logo made in the Graphics section and included within a report template prepared in the Word processing section.

2. Add other text into the report using the Word Processing section.

4. Extract class result data from the database section using a search.

5. Investigate possible patterns in the data by making a chart of the data in the Spreadsheet section.

 

This makes preparing reports quick and easy.

 

 

What you have to do!

Either in a new Word Document or in your Brain. Under a Main Heading 'Using an Integrated Package' complete the following tasks.
  1. List the various steps involved in the preparation of a sales report using an integrated package.
