So far, all our work has been with text. However some of the most effective images especially in advertising or magazines include a combination of pictures and text.
Combining images so that it doesn't look obvious how one picture blends into another can be difficult and time consuming. However, Fireworks program can make it much easier with the various Fade Effects.
But the real key is finding and using the right pictures.

The video shows you how to use:-
The Import function to bring in your images.
The Scale and resize Tool to reduce the size of images
The Fade function to help blur the edges of each image.
The ractangle and Opacity property.
The text tool - goes without saying.
What you have to do!
Create a new fireworks file. Quite wide this time as its a common effect used in web page banners. At least 600px wide and 200 max px high.

Search the internet for similar pictures or ones you want to use to produce a banner for the Johnstone School Web Site.
Add some suitable text.
Admire, save your file and see what your neighbour thinks.

What you should be able to do now!
Use the Fill tool to 'fill' text with a pattern.
Change the colour properties of text (saturation and contrast)
Use the Blend mode (screen)
Change the advanced properties of the stroke tool. (fluid splatter)
