Open/run an application
Using the computer's WIMP HCI you usually start an application by clicking on an icon or selecting from a menu.
Create, save, open/load or print file
Using the computer's WIMP HCI to open a new file or one that is already on disk, save a file or get a printout (hardcopy), by selecting from a menu or clicking on an icon
Insert data
Move the cursor to the point you want the data and then clicking. Once you have placed the cursor where you want, you can type in your data.
Amend data
Change existing data in the file.
Delete
Remove existing data or files. either by highlighting the data and the use the delete key or to remove files dragging them to the recycle bin.
Change the appearance of text
Change the font, size, style and colour of the text.
Move/copy data
Highlight text and use cut and paste to move text around a document. In an Integrated package this is one way of moving data between applications.
Headers and Footers
Appears at the top and bottom of every page in a documents. Footers usually contain page numbers. Headers can contain Chapter numbers or titles.
