7. Data Output

In the Glasgow Airport video, the airport uses a number of ways to output information.

Staff members manning the airport check-in desks have data displayed on their terminals and use laser printers to produce bar codes for baggage and to print out boarding cards. n.   

The data about aircraft arrivals and departures are output from the Airport Operating System to the many display screens that are dotted all round the airport.

As well as outputting information on screens or monitors, CDP systems can also produce information on paper. Printed receipts are perhaps the most common, but they can also produce delivery notes, reports and so on.

 

 

What you have to do!

Either in a new Word Document or in your Brain. Under a Sub Heading Data Output complete the following tasks.

1. List some different ways that information can be produced by the CDP Cycle?

2. Explain the purpose of the bar code on the luggage tag supplied by the check in desk.
